Cost: $65

Session Presenter: Dr. Sandra Magalhaes – NB-IRDT Research Associate

Session Description: Statistics provides a set of tools that can be used to develop insights and answer practical questions using data. How we draw conclusions from data is the focus of the second workshop in our Intro to Statistics series led by Dr. Sandra Magalhaes.

This two-day course focuses on developing an understanding of the statistical tools used to answer practical questions and provides an overview of methods to draw conclusions using statistics. It includes a comprehensive introduction to topics ranging from translating practical questions into statistical analyses to identifying appropriate statistical tests and interpreting results to make inferences.

On completion of this course, will be able to:

  1. Discuss various methods available to make statistical inferences
  2. Generate and interpret appropriate statistics to answer practical questions
  3. Appraise the quality of conclusions drawn from data
