September 30, 2025, is National Day of Truth and Reconciliation (NDTR).
This year’s NDTR marks the tenth anniversary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) Calls to Action. In response to the TRC’s report, CES committed to formally integrating TRC within our values, principles and practices. In 2024, we renewed our Commitment to Advancing Reconciliation and Indigenous Sovereignty to reflect our organization’s updated Strategic Plan and Core Professional Values, which include: “Recognize Indigenous sovereignty and the protocols and governance of distinct rightsholders; address colonial and systemic oppression and resulting inequities, according to recommendations from Indigenous Peoples including: UNDRIP principles, TRC Calls to Action, and MMIWG Calls to Justice.”
On October 8, join us for a complementary storytelling session with Larry Bremner (Métis, CE, FCES, and former CES President) to reflect on the CES Truth and Reconciliation Journey. We are pleased to welcome CES members and non-members to participate in this event, which will kick off a powerful series of webinars from leaders who are advancing TRC in Canada and in the field of evaluation.
