I was initially interested in the Credentialed Evaluator (CE) designation. However, I decided to join in 2017 after reading about all the benefits of membership on the CES website.
CES membership has benefitted me in a number of ways. First, completing the CE designation has been an important part of my professional development, as it framed my thinking around evaluator competencies and evaluation standards. Second, the Canadian Journal of Program Evaluation is an excellent resource and a frequent go-to for the latest publications in the field. Third, I have participated in several CES National Conferences, which I find both accessible and great learning and networking events. Lastly, I’ve been able to stay in touch with the evaluation community through various CES initiatives, including the Mentorship Initiative and the Student and Emerging Evaluator Network (SEEN).
