Introduction to Developmental Evaluation

Introduction to Developmental Evaluation

Organization: CES-NL Chapter
Highlights Calendar Icon Event Date: 2023-04-06

Developmental Evaluation is an evaluation approach that allows social innovators to develop social change initiatives in complex or uncertain environments. In this interactive, introductory-level session, the presenter will introduce developmental evaluation, how it fits into other types of evaluation, and why it's important.

The first half of the workshop will focus on the different types of evaluation, how they play together, and an exploration of your evaluation personality. The second half will dive deeper into developmental evaluation in practice and its ties to complexity and supporting innovation. You will get the opportunity to explore how developmental evaluation could appear in your work and what tools would best support it. Finally, the presenter will shed light on the characteristics, roles, and capabilities of developmental evaluators and how they act as a tool for innovation.

There are no specific prerequisites to attend this session, but it is best suited for participants with some experience in evaluation.
