Volunteer and Give Back to the Evaluation Community with CESEF

The Canadian Evaluation Society Educational Fund (CESEF) is recruiting board members for two positions:

Fund Developer & Coordinator

  • Assist CESEF in achieving our fundraising strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement an annual strategy to secure funding, including a scan of available grants, sponsorships, donations, gifts, fundraisers, and new revenue markets.
  • Manage fundraising activities (e.g., Silent Auction).
  • Coordinate fundraising communications with the Secretary.
  • Attend meetings every other month between September and June.

Secretary

  • Schedule board meetings, document meeting minutes, maintain the board’s Google drive, update CESEF’s website as needed, coordinate external communications with members and the CES community.
  • Coordinate with the CESEF Executive Committee (i.e., Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer).
  • Attend meetings every other month between September and June.

Deadline for applications: July 30, 2023. Interviews will take place in August 2023.

  • Estimated time commitment for positions will vary by role. Each member is asked to attend 1-hour-long board meeting every other month between September and June (the board breaks for July and August).
  • Minimum tenure length is 2 years with option to renew for a maximum of 6 years.
  • Send applications, including a relevant CV (2 pages maximum) 1-page letter summarizing your interest and skills, and contact information, to admin@cesef.ca with the subject “CESEF Board Member Application”. In the email, attach a pdf that combines your CV and letter as one document. Name the document with your name in the format FirstName_LastName_CESEF.pdf when you attach it to the email.
  • Selected candidates will be invited for an interview with the CESEF Nominating Committee. Interviews will take place via Zoom or Teams.  

About CESEF

The Canadian Evaluation Society Educational Fund (CESEF) is an independent organization that was originally created by the Canadian Evaluation Society in 1990 and reorganized in 2005 to improve national capacity for evaluation through educational activities. In 2006, it became officially registered as a Canadian charity (Canada Revenue Agency, Charities Division registration # 810284174 RR 0001). The purpose of the CESEF is to provide scholarships, awards, and educational opportunities to Canadians wishing to further their knowledge within the field of program evaluation.
