The Canadian Evaluation Society (CES) is pleased to announce the launch of the Core Values Committee (CVC), a new initiative of the CES. The CVC will lead integration of CES’s core professional values into all aspects of our work, from internal operations to member facing engagements.
What are the CES Core Professional Values?
The CVC has been designed to ensure CES’s core values are visible, actionable, and embedded across our work as a Society. Fundamental domains and cross-cutting areas are central to the work of CVC, such as equity, diversity, inclusion (EDI); environmental sustainability; Reconciliation; linguistic accessibility; and other lenses through which CES can operationalize and express its core professional values in practice. The CVC’s work and our core professional values are also grounded in CES’s ethical guidance, which provides the foundational principles for ethical, responsible, and values-based evaluation practice in Canada.
Over the coming weeks, the CVC will share opportunities for members to contribute. As the CVC is new, part of our first year will be identifying the best ways to serve members and engage valued volunteers. We look forward to shaping an evaluation community that reflects our shared values. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for helping us build a stronger, values-driven field of evaluation.
