The Indigenous Evaluation Network convened its inaugural Indigenous Evaluation Summit online on February 22-23, 2024. The event fostered the emergence of creative and enthusiastic energies aimed at bolstering the practice and methodologies of Indigenous evaluation. The summit marked a significant milestone in advancing Indigenous evaluation practices, signalling a renewed commitment to enhancing research methodologies and evaluation frameworks. This historic event promises to impact Indigenous evaluation and its practitioners.
A new fire is lit. The Summit 2026, is set in-person ONLY for February 19-20, 2026 at Carleton University. We need Ottawa resident volunteers for this exciting event — email Andrea at info@johnstonresearch.ca. This year's event will immerse into our knowledge, our hopes for our people, this is not a bragging or self-fulfilling enterprise for any of us. This is a dedication to mino-bimaadiziwin — the good life (an Ojibway language word, endorsed by Anishnawbe ancestors). We further invite Waabagiighic at our Summit to support our new beginnings and positive outlook looking towards the clear shining day ahead that brings the medicines we have all collected together in celebration of life and zaa-gagawin — love for all our people.
