Cassandra Parsons Elected as Vice-President of the CES

It is with great pleasure that we announce Cassandra Parsons, MPH, CE, has been elected as the new Vice-President of the Canadian Evaluation Society for the 2025-2027 term.

Cassandra brings a wealth of experience to this role, having served as Secretary on the Board since 2023, and previously as the Student & Emerging Evaluator Representative from 2021 to 2023. Her nearly six years of active engagement with CES has been marked by dedicated service to both national and international evaluation initiatives, and a deep commitment to growing our evaluation community.

As a Senior Evaluation Consultant at Ference & Company, Cassandra has worked with diverse stakeholders across non-profit, community, provincial, and federal sectors. This breadth of experience provides her with valuable insights into the evolving landscape of evaluation practice in Canada.

Her ability to build bridges across different perspectives while maintaining a clear vision for advancing evaluation practice has been truly remarkable. We look forward to working alongside her to strengthen CES in several key areas:

  • Advancing the 2024-2029 Strategic Plan with a focus on elevating professional evaluation, engaging members and partners, and advocating for quality evaluation and its use

  • Fostering inclusive spaces for students and emerging evaluators through mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities

  • Championing initiatives that enhance how evaluation is used and perceived by end-users to increase the value of our work across different contexts

  • Driving forward initiatives involving Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Environmental Sustainability

  • Supporting the Ethics and Credentialing Board portfolios to better serve our members and the field of evaluation more broadly

Cassandra's election comes at an important time for our organization as we implement our new strategic plan and continue to navigate evolving evaluation practices across Canada. Her demonstrated leadership in fostering connections among evaluators and her commitment to ethical, inclusive, and action-oriented approaches will be valuable assets to our Board and membership.

Please join the CES National Board of Directors in congratulating Cassandra on her election. We look forward to her contributions in advancing excellence in evaluation across Canada.
