Final Donation Time for CESEF’s Silent Auction

The Canadian Evaluation Society Educational Fund’s (CESEF’s) Silent Auction returns for 2024! It will take place on the evening of Sunday, May 5, in conjunction with the Opening Reception for the CES National Conference in Fredericton, NB, from May 5 to 8.

Proceeds from the auction are used to support the many programs of CESEF that support the professional development of evaluators. Through the support of the evaluation community, CESEF has been able to offer scholarships, opportunities for emerging evaluators to practice their evaluation skills through the Case Competition, and funding to support emerging evaluators in the indigenous community to attend the CES National Conference. This year we are pleased to reinstate the Student and Emerging Evaluator advancing Knowledge (SEEK) awards and Education Assistance Awards (EAA).

You can help by donating items to the auction. Items in previous auctions have included jewelry, books, gift certificates, items from international travel by members, and regional wines. If you have a skill such as woodworking, knitting, quilting, weaving and would like to show others, consider donating one of your pieces. All donation items will receive a tax receipt.

To date we have received donations which include a handmade quilted throw, a patchwork Christmas tree skirt, and a registration for the CES Ontario Chapter’s Inclusive and Equitable Evaluation Using a Theory of Change (fall session).

Making a donation of an auction item is easy. Contact admin@cesef.ca to confirm the item you would like to donate. Then you can bring the item with you to the Conference in May or send it with a colleague. All auction items must be received before 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 5.

If you prefer to give a monetary donation, you can do so through the CESEF website at http://cesef.memberlodge.org/donate. Tax receipts will be issued for income tax purposes for both in-kind and monetary donations. And for those coming to Conference, make it a priority to attend the Silent Auction and bid on the unique items. It is a great opportunity to network, enjoy a beverage and have fun competing with your colleagues for some great items.
