Food choices

Since 2019, included in the registration fee, the CES conference has been pleased to offer several catered breakfasts, lunches, and social event refreshments. In alignment with our conference objectives and CES core values, we strive to offer an enjoyable menu that satisfies a range of dietary requirements within our budget, and in alignment with national recommendations for healthy and sustainable diets.

To do this we:

  • invite delegates to identify specific dietary needs upon registration, and work with the venue’s catering to accommodate allergies and to clearly label Gluten Free, Nut-Free, Vegan, and Dairy-Free options.
  • avoid disposable packaging, single-use plastics, and food waste (more)
  • offer plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole grains, and plant-based protein foods (Food Guide)
  • choose protein foods with a lower ecological footprint (more)
  • check seafoods for sustainability certification (more)
  • encourage delegates to explore local restaurants that serve local and sustainably farmed or hunted meats (more)
