The McGill Max Bell School of Public Policy will open applications for the 2027 Evaluation Capacity Case Challenge (EC3) on Wednesday, October 7. The closing date is November 7.
Since 2023, the Challenge has hosted this annual experiential learning event to offer current students and early-career professionals the opportunity to learn how to strengthen evaluation capacity in organizations and for one case-site organization to receive insights from the brightest minds in evaluation across Canada and the US about how they can strengthen their capacity to support high-quality evaluation.
This year’s challenge will take place in Ottawa, Ontario at the University of Ottawa on April 30-May 1, 2027. Hosting the challenge in Ottawa affords those selected the opportunity to also attend the 2027 CES Conference (May 2-5, 2027). Individuals interested in being considered for participation on an evaluation capacity building team must submit their application. Individuals may work or study in any disciplinary area and are eligible to apply if they reside in Canada or the US for most of the year and will have completed an introductory course in evaluation (formal academic course or professional development workshop) by January 2027. There is no fee for individuals to apply or participate, and the Challenge covers the hotel expenses for individuals who are selected (for April 29-May 2).
