The CES initiated the Identity and Demographic Data (IDD) Project as the next step in its ongoing efforts to better respond to member needs and to take a transparent, proactive, and responsible approach to data collection across its membership, programs, and events. This work builds on CES’s continued commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, and is intended to inform how the Society can responsibly collect and use identity and demographic data in a way that reflects member priorities and maintains trust.
The project was conducted by DPM Research and guided by a subcommittee of the CES EDI&ES Standing Committee to ensure alignment with CES values and strategic priorities. It provides an evidence-based foundation to support CES in making informed decisions about whether and how IDD collection should be implemented.
CES is now reviewing the findings of the report and developing next steps in response to this work. Further updates will be shared with members in the coming months.
