2021
C2021 conference organizers have met the challenge of COVID-19 distancing by assembling a suite of professional learning opportunities of exceptional depth and quality. An all-star cast of Canadian and international evaluation leaders will conduct 27 workshops in both English and French covering an extraordinarily wide range of topics.
The conference will take advantage of everything that new technologies have to offer. Special features will allow participants to engage, contribute and interact with presenters in a variety of ways. A flexible format will offer some workshops more than once.
Here is a taste of what will be offered at C2021 workshops:
- Innovative methods and technologies for evaluation: using Zoom, other digital communications and simulation, applying design thinking;
- Practical tools and techniques: how to apply approaches such as developmental evaluation and reflective practice, thinking creatively to bridge theory and practice;
- How evaluation can contribute to knowledge translation and dissemination;
- Indigenous and culturally responsive evaluation;
- Integrating gender approaches in evaluation;
- Evaluation in an international context;
- Data analysis: an introduction to statistics for better decision making as well as qualitative methods and techniques, including how to use NVivo for content analysis.
Looking to the future – An important theme of C2021 will be helping evaluators to deal with transformative change. The kick-off workshop will be the leaders’ event Leading Evaluation During Times of Change. Other workshop topics include the economic foundations of theories of change, strengthening evaluation thinking for organizational change, and training the next generation of evaluators.
