As winners of the 2020 CES Student Evaluation Case Competition, the team from Simon Fraser University was invited to represent Canada in the recent World Evaluation Case Competition (WECC).
In the world event, held on November 14th, sixteen teams around the globe were challenged to pitch program evaluation to a non-governmental organization in Vietnam. The organization focuses on protecting young people from human trafficking, a problem that has been exacerbated by the current pandemic.
The Canadian team, coached by Beth Snow CE, included Kathy Chan, Stephanie Liu, Cassandra Parsons, James Young and Natasha Vitkin. They placed third in the world event and claimed the 2020 North American Championship. The highly creative team was also the first in the history of the international competition to respond to a case using a narrated PowerPoint show.
