2020

Over the past thirty years, Marie dedicated her career to the advancement of evaluation theory and practice and to mentoring the next generation of evaluators through her academic work and through her contribution to the network of EvalYouth.
Marie’s contribution to the francophone community of evaluators is undeniable. She was an active member of the Société québécoise d’évaluation de programme (SQEP), which she served as a Board member for 5 years. She led debates, which contributed to organizing the first two International Francophone Evaluation Forums and the establishment of the Francophone Network of Emerging Evaluators (RF-Ee)
Marie was also a great contributor to CES through the roles she actively played in the organization. She was a member of the CJPE Editorial Board since 2017 and a member of CES Credentialing Board.
Marie’s contribution to the field of evaluation earned her the 2007 SQEP Recognition Award, the 2012 CES Contribution to Evaluation in Canada award and the 2019 RFE Prize for contribution to the development of evaluation in a francophone environment.
Our hearts go out to Marie’s family and friends during this difficult time.
Doaa Saddek,
President of the Canadian Evaluation Society (CES)
On behalf of the CES National Board.
