2018
ReThink, consisting of students in Education, Evaluation and Public Health from the Universities of Victoria, Melbourne, British Columbia and Simon Fraser, took home the Student Evaluation Case Competition plaque at the 2018 CES Conference in Calgary, AB on May 27th.
Team members were Zahra Remtulla, Michelle Naimi, Anita Minh, and Clint Thomson. The coach was Chris Lovato.
It was a close contest. The team, along with the other two finalist teams – Theory in Action of the University of Waterloo, the first on-line team to make the finals, and Harmonious Solutions of the University of Saskatchewan - presented their proposals to promote a collective impact approach for the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter (CWES) to a panel of judges and conference delegates. The team was presented with the competition plaque at the CES Annual Awards Luncheon.
The SEEK Award was also presented at the conference to Andrea Chow of the University of Ottawa. Honourable mention went to David Buetti of the University of Ottawa.
The CES/CESEF Case Competition Working Group would like to thank the teams, coaches, judges, and our supporters for making this year's student competitions a success. We encourage students and coaches from across Canada to plan to participate in 2019.
