Global Parlementarians Forum

Established in 2012, EvalPartners is a global initiative to support the growth and capacity development of civil society organizations, and particularly Voluntary Organizations for Professional Evaluation (VOPEs) with a view to strengthening the practice and use of evaluation at national, regional and international levels. Core partners of the organization include regional evaluation networks and large national evaluation societies (including the Canadian Evaluation Society) and five UN agencies. EvalPartners has numerous other partners, which include donors, foundations, universities, VOPEs and international NGOs.

Within the EvalPartners initiative, there are several networks advancing work to address particular challenges in evaluation. These include EvalSDGs (Sustainable Development Goals); EvalGender+; EvalYouth; EvalIndigenous; and Global Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation.

Guiding the work of EvalPartners is the Global Evaluation Agenda (GEA) 2020 (or EvalAgenda 2020) which was launched in 2015 – the Year of Evaluation. EvalAgenda 2020 is the first ever long term global vision for evaluation. The Agenda was developed in participatory manner and EvalPartners invite any individual, any organization, any government or any interested party to contribute to implementation of the GEA by undertaking relevant initiatives wherever they live or work.

Two flagship programs were identified to drive forward EvalAgenda 2020 at the April, 2017 Global Evaluation Forum III in the Kyrgyz Republic: 1) Strengthen National Evaluation Systems with the objective of increased integration of evaluation in national systems; and 2) “Evidence matters” campaign with the objective of raising the profile of evaluation among a wide range of stakeholders.

Among the many other initiatives of EvalPartners is the Small Grants Program supporting Peer to Peer partnership projects to promote shared advice and learning. The EvalPartners website also provides access to a variety of e-learning, training and toolkit resources. To keep up-to-date on the initiatives of EvalPartners and other partner organizations, read country profiles and view resources from around the globe, access their monthly newsletter.
