We were saddened to hear of the recent passing of Marie Gervais. Marie was a member of the CJPE Editorial Board since 2017. Her energy, passion and support for emerging evaluators was unparalleled, here in Canada and abroad. Marie published several articles in the CJPE, covering topics such as the benefits of participating in CES student competitions (2003), evaluating program efficiency (1998, 1999), and applying one analytical framework to five evaluation projects (2008). Marie was also the guest editor for the CJPE's 25th anniversary special issue, in which she brought together various perspectives on evaluation failures and challenges. Her courage and her honesty in tackling these issues created an important learning opportunity for the evaluation community and the lessons learned continue to be applied to this day.
Thank you Marie for these contributions to our community, and especially to francophone evaluators.
We offer our most sincere condolences to Marie's family, friends and colleagues.
