CES-NCC will begin hosting a series of webinars designed to help CES-NCC develop their skills in the five core competencies for Canadian evaluators. The webinar series will also provide an exciting opportunity for evaluators to share their skills and promote their work with others in the community.
Yves Gingras, Director General of the Evaluation Directorate at ESDC, will be kicking off the series this Fall with an exciting webinar on The Impact of Active Labour Market Interventions on the Unemployed in Canada. The webinar will take place on November 12 from 1 to 2 pm and will focus on the following competency: Technical Practice.
The presentation will outline results from the evaluation of the Labour Market Development Agreements. The presentation will explain the quasi-experimental approach used to produce robust and policy relevant results. It will include a cost-benefit analysis showing that interventions yield large positive returns over time. It also shows that social benefits exceeded cost of investments for most interventions.
