As you may have seen, the nomination period is now open for the CES Vice -President position for the 2019-2021 term (https://evaluationcanada.ca/news/10810). I would like to encourage any and all CES members to consider taking on this highly rewarding role.
Much of the important groundwork for implementing and updating our Professional Designations Program (PDP) has been accomplished over the last 10 years, and CES is now seen as a world leader in the professionalization of evaluation. Working closely with the CES National Board and especially its Professional Learning Committee as well with as CES Chapters, as Vice-President you would have the opportunity, among other roles, to further strengthen and consolidate our efforts and to contribute advancing excellence in evaluation across Canada and internationally.
I would particularly encourage anyone who has not yet been involved in CES or Chapter Boards to consider stepping forward. One way we can work for an open and inclusive professional society is to engage the many capable people who are not already part of our volunteer ranks! And you will find that your Board colleagues are a wonderfully supportive group, dedicated to CES, its members and the evaluation field.
If you have questions about the VP role and what it might look like in 2019-2021, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly, at 514-935-3943, or [email protected].
