Changes to the CES structure in the North

Dear CES members,

The purpose of this note is to inform you of changes to the CES structure in the North. The CES-NWT Chapter has officially ended its activities, and adjacent chapters will now serve CES members located in the North. More specifically, the CESBC (British Columbia) Chapter will serve members located in the Yukon, the CES-Alberta Chapter will serve members located in the Northwest Territories and the CES-National Capital Chapter will serve members located in Nunavut.

Needless to say, this decision was a hard one to make, for all parties involved. Over the past year, the Board of Directors of the CES-NWT Chapter has reviewed various options for restructuring the Chapter and maintaining its operations. During the same period, the President of the CES-NWT Chapter has communicated regularly with the CES President and with CES Chapter presidents located in British Colombia, Alberta and Ottawa. At the end of this process, the CES-NWT Chapter concluded that having adjacent chapters serve CES members located in the North was the appropriate avenue to pursue.

On behalf of CES, we wish to extend our most sincere thank you to all of those who have so generously served the evaluation community in our three territories, through the CES-NWT Chapter. While structural changes are made, the commitment of CES to serve these members remains as strong.

Jennifer Carey, President, CES-NWT Chapter
François Dumaine, President, Canadian Evaluation Society
